Progressive women of color in politics are facing unprecedented challenges within an increasingly polarized society. Running for office is both exhilarating and grueling. Once elected, governing is both triumphant and isolating.

Women of color stand at the intersections of these contradictions which are compounded by racism, sexism, and threats to their safety due to their hyper-visibility and progressive stances. Despite all of these challenges, they continue to defy the odds, impact their communities, and make history.

This half-day gathering in Boulder will bring together progressive women of color from across Colorado to share their experiences in politics and community organizing, including survival, mental health and rejuvenation strategies.
