Free and accessible training for all.
Women Uprising’s trainings are 100% free because we believe that for far too long, public policy has been made by those with access to power instead of those most impacted by it. Change shouldn't be dependent on a person’s income level or who they know.
Instead, we will equip women with an array of skills to help transform their lives and communities. By creating a community of learning focusing on how campaigns work and how to build power, we can transform a broken system that doesn't work for any of us into a thriving democracy that is accessible to all of us – not just the political elite.
Other training programs require women to be registered with a political party or pay tuition. We have eliminated those barriers in these politically polarized and tough economic times. Our trainings are accessible to the masses of progressive women who would otherwise not be able to afford access to exclusive pay-to-play organizations that invest more in their brands than individuals.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so we can receive tax-deductible contributions that support our free educational trainings. Unlike other national organizations, our fiscal sponsor, the State Democracy Project, does not compete with us for donors. We are 100% independent and have sole authority over our messaging, brand, and curriculum without interference from a national entity that does not know the Colorado political landscape. This autonomy reduces our costs and allows us to expand our reach to more women across our state.

-
Training
Through a series of free hybrid (in-person and online) 3-day weekend intensives across Colorado we will train and educate women on how to run and manage political campaigns from start to finish. Through interactive workshops for both potential candidates and campaign workers we will demystify the campaign process, review the nuts and bolts of setting up and managing political campaigns, engage with local labor organizers and other endorsing organizations, and learn from elected women leaders about their pathway to public office.
-
Mentorship
As seasoned political practitioners, we know more than training is needed to navigate complex political landscapes. Our team is committed to creating a pipeline of progressive political women leaders who can mentor one another at every level of government. Through one-on-one mentorship sessions, we foster supportive environments where women can inspire each other to thrive in challenging political environments.
-
Advocacy
Our country has a long and proud history of women-led uprisings challenging discriminatory and inequitable treatment. By speaking out boldly about matters of public concern through an intersectional lens of racial and gender equity, we advance our liberation movement while removing barriers that hinder women from fully participating in our democracy.
-
Political Education
Progressive candidates reflect the issues, needs and histories of their communities that drives their run for public office. Through political education forums we will bring our communities along the political journey with us and build grassroots power. By creating communities of learning we will educate voters about the electoral process and motivate them to vote on election day.

Resources
It is not enough to train women to run races -- we must also set them up for success once their training is complete. We will connect women candidates to experienced consultants they can hire to set up their campaigns, recruit staff, apply for endorsements, fundraise, manage communications, navigate legal issues, and more!
